# DHC v9.3.4 — combo-breaker recovery update

An accepted combo breaker now puts the attacker into native recoil **without dealing damage**. Grounded recoil uses a **96-pixel pushback stream**, moving the attacker up to **96 game pixels away**; stage edges can clamp the movement. The attacker receives **24 eligible recovery ticks**. Each defender escape starts with fresh flight permissions, repairing repeated same-facing escapes that could retain stale attack or guard restrictions.

Press **exactly LK+MP** with a fresh press during ordinary opposing point-fighter normal hitstun in **DHC REMIX**. The cost remains **one whole bar**, with a native escape hop and **40 eligible protection ticks**. The v9.3.3 animated super opening, flash, **COMBO BREAKER** announcement and **Tech Hit** sound request remain. DHC Classic keeps the defensive mechanics disabled.

Eleven bounded local MAME 0.287 CPS-2/QSound HLE diagnostics passed on final candidate `composed-v934-03` (`6257b2e30e211c79e9b0cf00d1238ee93633af47b05aa549bf3e97456be3aa06`): eight positive runs, three paid cycles each, and three zero-spend controls. They cover first-edge airborne HP without retries and original-hop air guard on both sides, plus Wolverine and Gold War Machine ordinary-normal corner pressure. Response-aware checks recorded zero attacker HP loss, 96-pixel ground recoil, 24 eligible recovery ticks and ordinary action afterward. Sampled Classic P1, extra-button P1 and zero-meter P2 requests refused without spending. The twelve native air-guard action 0x26 witnesses occurred against live normal pressure with 14–16 protection ticks remaining: they establish guard eligibility, not damage blocking after immunity expires. The community test guide names each run and its ten initial fixture writes; every listed run reports zero post-setup guest-state writes.

Gold War Machine's ordinary permanent-armor normals now pass a narrow opposing-point-fighter admission exception. Its two corner checks passed three escapes each. True-Hyper and captured-state refusals remain; its separate X-Factor exclusion also remains.

Three-bar Classic/REMIX rules, selected partner Hypers, nine colors, earlier repairs, Roll's moves, last-fighter X-Factor and the Morrigan/Lilith/Orange Hulk/Roll revivals carry forward. Original v8 art/video and the explicitly historical v9.3.3 breaker reel stay available.

Use the matching ROM-free Windows CMD/Python package to patch your own clean encrypted Euro 980123 `mvsc.zip`. Keep that input and follow the matching README/receipt to create `mvsc_dhc_v9.3.4.zip`; copy it into a separate emulator ROM folder as `mvsc.zip`. Native Windows, Fightcade rollback, physical controllers, wider roster coverage, facing reversals/cross-ups, lingering projectile ownership, downstream sound and host performance remain unverified. This update makes no universal slowdown or full Ultimate MVC3 parity claim.

Thanks to **artfuldodger2468** for reporting the recovery problem. Existing community and palette credits remain.
